By giving your child the opportunity to gain control of the world and the various characters that make up it, you indirectly help them develop their confidence. At the same time, you'll have a lot of fun with your disguises - from taking photos and creating your child's own illustrated book, to making a mini-movie with that protagonist, or performing in front of other family members.
Creating costumes!
When it comes to costume making, nature has endless options! Colorful butterflies are a nice and easy idea: you can make a pair of feathers with colored cardboard and place them on the child's shoulders with a rope. If again, you want to make a flower costume, it's pretty easy: just use your colored cardboard and make a simple daisy hat! You can make one for yourself!
Making a book with pictures
Once you have the costumes ready, it's time to invent the stories! Create a fun tale with your child and then immerse yourself as you play the various scenes in the story. When the photography is done and the photos are printed, glue them to a notebook and write the story. Use captions or bubbles for dialogues as they do in comics!
Headlights, camera, let's get started!
In addition to the illustrated picture book, you can also film your child during their story. Make sure you play a role in this little play so that your little one doesn't get stressed. Once you're done, share the video with all the family members!
Yard theater
You could also give a formal theatrical performance for the whole family! Build cardboard sets, make some more costumes for dad and the other kids, and then invite the rest of your family and close friends to attend! You can devote a whole day to it: once the project is finished, prepare a nice picnic for all guests!
No matter how your child is disguised, show everyone how proud you are of your little butterfly or your cute flower by sharing this day with us!
